Before you start
- A Windows 10 or 11 (x64) PC, or Linux with Steam Proton.
- skate. owned on the Steam account you will sign in with.
- About 14 GB of free space for the game copy ReSkate installs.
Install ReSkate on Windows
Step 1: Download ReSkate
Open the GitHub Releases page and download the latest ReSkate-<version>.zip.
Step 2: Extract to a folder of its own
Create a new, empty folder such as C:\Games\ReSkate and extract ReSkateLauncher.exe and ReSkate.dll into it. Do not use Steam's skate. folder: ReSkate keeps its own copy of the game.
Step 3: Run the launcher
Run ReSkateLauncher.exe. It checks for ReSkate updates, then installs the supported game build into that folder. When asked, sign in to Steam with the account that owns skate., by scanning a QR code with the Steam app or with a username, password and Steam Guard. Later runs only download what is missing.
Step 4: Press PLAY
Try offline play first, then explore the menu.

Troubleshooting a ReSkate install
- Wrong game build: let the launcher download the supported build rather than mixing files.
- Antivirus alert: see is ReSkate safe?.
- Crash: check
logs\ReSkate.log; crash reports can be turned off in advanced settings.
