Two ways to play ReSkate multiplayer
| Steam lobby | Dedicated server | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Quick sessions with friends | Long-running community rooms |
| Capacity | Up to 32 players | Set by the host |
| Setup | In-game, nothing to install | Download and run ReSkateServer |
| Access | Public, room code or password | Server browser listing |
Host a Steam lobby
- Start the game from the ReSkate launcher and open the multiplayer menu.
- Create a lobby and choose public, code-only or password protected.
- Share the room code or invite friends through Steam, then promote a party leader if you want one.
Join a dedicated server
Open the in-game server browser to see community servers. Dedicated servers run without the game or Steam installed, so hosts can keep them online around the clock. Want to host one? Follow the dedicated server guide.
What you can do together
- Proximity voice chat and text chat with emotes (press T).
- Parties in lobbies and on servers: invite, join, leave and promote.
- Throwdowns: Jam, Spot Battle and S.K.A.T.E. against other players.
- Co-op challenges with your party.
- Shared parks: guests follow the host's rotating park layouts.
Multiplayer tips
Everyone in a session should run the same ReSkate version and game build, which the launcher keeps in sync. If you load a custom map and then join a server on a different map, the screen can stay black; load the server's map first. Servers also run anti-cheat checks, so stick to the supported build.
