Desktop browser with WebGPU recommended. The first load downloads a lot of data.

About
What is the Skate 3 browser game?
The Skate 3 browser game is an unofficial fan adaptation of the 2010 skateboarding classic, rebuilt on a community engine so it can run inside a modern browser. It is a playable preview rather than a replacement for the console release.
Skate 3 is remembered for Flick It controls, a relaxed open world and a creative skate park community. The Skate 3 browser project keeps that spirit alive for anyone with a desktop browser: you get a single-player session, a handful of worlds to roll through and the physics-driven feel the series is known for, without buying hardware or installing launchers.
Because the engine and game data stream in on demand, the page you are reading stays light. Nothing downloads until you press Load game, and repeat visits reuse cached files. Skate 3 browser is created by independent fans, so features such as multiplayer are not available, and it may change as the project evolves.
If the browser version leaves you wanting more, the newer skate. on Steam is where the modding community lives today. That is where ReSkate comes in, adding offline play, 32-player lobbies and thousands of free mods.
How to play
How to play Skate 3 in your browser
Getting started takes four steps. Allow a few minutes the first time, because the game downloads its engine and world data on demand.
- 1
Use a desktop browser
A current Chrome, Edge or other browser with WebGPU works best, on a computer with enough free memory.
- 2
Press Load game
The page itself stays light. The engine, character data and your selected world download only after you load the game.
- 3
Start in Skate School
A smaller world is a good first session, and large city maps take longer to download.
- 4
Skate
Push, steer and flick. Press Esc to pause whenever you need to check the controls.
Controls
Skate 3 browser keyboard controls
The keyboard essentials are simple. Skate 3 is built around the Flick It system, where trick inputs mirror the motion of your feet, so the arrow keys stand in for the right stick on a controller.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| W A S D | Steer your skater |
| Space | Push |
| ↑ ↓ ← → | Flick It: tricks and flips |
| Esc | Pause |
Prefer a gamepad? The browser project also supports controllers, so plug one in before you load the game. To practise an ollie, push a few times, then flick the arrow key down and up in one smooth motion.
Troubleshooting
Fixing slow loading and WebGPU problems
Most Skate 3 browser problems come from the size of the download or from browser support. Work through these checks before reloading.
- Be patient on the first load. The engine, characters and map are large. Keep the tab open and visible while the progress bar moves.
- Check WebGPU. If the game will not start, update your browser or try another recent desktop browser and make sure hardware acceleration is on.
- Free up memory. Close heavy tabs. A crash or black screen during loading is often a memory limit.
- Start with a small world. Skate School loads faster than a full city map.
